Our Philosophy
It is our philosophy that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovery. We will build upon each child’s interests and share the joy of their newly acquired skills, and increased awareness that comes with each day. We recognize the special uniqueness of each child and will continuously strive to nurture and encourage your child’s individual creativity and self-expression. Our goal is to offer a quality educational experience by developing the whole child: intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually; in a safe, clean and healthy environment. Our friendly, experienced and trained teachers understand the special responsibility in providing quality care for each child entrusted to us.
Our Director
Lorisa Romanoski is currently the Director of New Discoveries Preschool. She has worked in child care for 15 years and has been with our school for 10 of them. Lorisa graduated from the University of Arizona with her degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies. Prior to joining our team, she taught high school for 3 years, sixth grade and worked as a kindergarten aide. She started at New Discoveries as our Pre-K teacher for 3 years and the 3’s teacher for 1 year. She then worked as our Early Childhood Specialist, assisting with teacher training, curriculum, classroom management and working hand in hand with our owner, Linda before taking on the role of the Director in 2016.
Our History
New Discoveries Preschool began in March of 2005 when Linda and Ron Kovacs took it over from the previous owners. Linda is the Executive Director and Owner of New Discoveries Preschool along with her husband, Ron. She has been working in Early Childhood for 23 years with her start at Satori, a school for gifted children. She and her husband purchased New Discoveries 13 years ago with a strong desire to create a quality program where children can grow and develop in all areas and learn from excellent and well trained teachers. Knowing how critical the birth to 6 years are, Linda strives for excellence in her programs, wanting the best for all children.
